Gladys Rice, age 92, of Pittsburg, died Friday, June 9, 2017 at her home. Family will receive friends on Wednesday from 7-8 p.m. at Brumley-Mills Funeral Home. Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, June 15, 2017 at First Baptist Church in Pittsburg with Dr. James Crowson officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Brumley-Mills Funeral Home in McAlester. Gladys was born on April 22, 1925 in Kiowa to Richard and Callie (Greemore) Rush. She married Warren Rice on March 13, 1945 in McAlester. She was a food service worker for St. Mary's Hospital, Dow School and retired from the Pittsburg School. She enjoyed cooking, sewing and crocheting. She was of the Baptist faith. She is survived by her children and spouses, Jimmy and Carol Rice of Pittsburg, George and Elaine Rice of Pittsburg, Robert Rice of Pittsburg, Melba and Wayne Keck of Ada, Ronnie and Debbie Rice of Pittsburg and Susie Hass of McAlester; 13 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren; 1 brother, Henry "Jick" Norris of Clayton; 1 sister and brother-in-law, Lillie "Dittie" and Johnny Sullivan of Hartshorne; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and special friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Warren Rice; siblings, Sarah Sullivan, Connie Rush, William "Little Bill" Rush, Icey Ayers, Doyle Rush, Nancy McFadden, Jim Norris, Sam Rush and Lydia Shockley; granddaughter, Christina Rice, great granddaughter, Casey Brannon, great grandson, Seven Kinney, grandson, Gabriel Marshall, great-grandsons, Matthew Rice and Hank Brown. Active pallbearers will be Joe Sullivan, Jim Sullivan, Joe Ryan, Jim Ryan, Hank Thomason and Hal Thomason. Honorary pallbearers will be Larry Christman, Ricky Christman and her grandsons, James Rice, Cowboy George Rice II, Jace Rice, Clayton Rice, Rodney Rice, Joshua Hass, Randy Hass and Elijah Hass
