Dorothy (Gal) Wynona Pope, 79, passed away on May 9, 2018, at Methodist University Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee.
Dorothy was born on August 18, 1938, to Jonas Shannon and Lora Belle Byrd Shannon in Pittsburg.
Dorothy was of the Protestant faith and a loving wife, mother and homemaker.
Visitation was held at Holley Springs Funeral Home in Holley Springs, Mississippi, on Friday, May 11, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.
A graveside service will be at Pittsburg Cemetery on Monday, May 14, at 10 a.m. Arrangements are under the direction of Bishop Funeral Service of McAlester.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Cindy James, and brothers, Doy and Coy Shannon.
Dorothy is survived by her husband, Jimmy Pope, of Byhalia, Mississippi; son, Paul Pope and wife, Cindy, of Byhalia, Mississippi; daughter, Kimmie Fontaine and husband, Dabney, of Byhalia, Mississippi; brother, Buddy Glen Shannon and wife, Donna, of Pittsburg; four grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.
