Linda Sue Labor passed away on December 8, 2023, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma surrounded by her loving husband and children. Born on August 21, 1951, in Atoka County, Oklahoma. Linda was a cherished wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend whose gentle spirit touched the lives of all who knew her. Linda's journey began as the daughter of Hugh and Gladys (Latham) Lewis, where she grew up surrounded by the warmth of a loving family. On November 24, 1969, she married the love of her life, John H. Labor, in McAlester, and together they built a life filled with joy, laughter, and unbreakable bonds. Their love story spanned 54 years, during which they raised three wonderful children: Russel, Susan, and Robyn. Her legacy continues through her beloved husband, John, of the home; her children: Russel Labor and his wife, Brandy, of Kiowa, Susan Labor of McAlester, and Robyn Shannon of Kiowa; her cherished grandchildren: Nathan Labor, Regan Hicks and her husband, Evan, Talan Shannon, and Wyatt Shannon; and her adored great-grandson, Kace Labor. Linda's memory will also be treasured by her sisters, Lonnie Johnson and her husband, Chester, Alma Shackleford and her husband, Danny; her brother, John Lewis and his wife, Sherri; and her brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Leon, Roy and his wife, Nancy, George and his wife, Kim, and Joetta McIntyre and her husband, Tim. Her life was enriched by numerous nieces, nephews, and a host of friends who became family. Linda was preceded in death by her parents, Hugh and Gladys Lewis; her siblings, Don Lewis, Archie Lewis, Perry Lewis, Dean Lewis, Wonnie McAfee, and Modessa Lewis; her uncle, Quinn Latham; and sister-in-law, Shirley Labor. Each of them held a special place in her heart, and she carried their memories with her every day. An active member of the Pittsburg Round-up Club for over 40 years, Linda's passion for community was evident in her commitment to the club's activities and events. Her interests were as nurturing as her personality; she found solace in the pages of romance novels, and her hands were rarely still as she poured love into her cooking, sewing, and quilting. Each stitch and recipe was a reflection of her loving nature. As we remember Linda, we are reminded of the words of Helen Keller: "What we have once enjoyed we can never lose. All that we love deeply becomes a part of us." Her story does not end here, for she lives on in the memories we cherish and the love she shared so freely. Rest in peace, dear Linda, until we meet again.
