Johnny Ray Johnson of Pittsburg died Wednesday at his home at the age of 58.
Johnny was born January 31, 1960 to Darrell Johnson and Juanetta (Staires) Johnson in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He attended Pittsburg High School. He worked at Baptist Medical Center for 23 years until his health began to fail. He enjoyed hunting and fishing.
He is survived by his mother, Juanetta Johnson of McAlester; sons, Travis Johnson of McLoud and Taylor Johnson of Moore; sister, Janie Ryan of Pittsburg, niece, Alisha Conner and husband, Heath of Skiatook and nephew, Monte Swearingen; uncle, Clifford T. Staires, Jr. of Pittsburg; cousins, Brian White, Jimmy White, Jack Hope and Robert Mitchell and great nieces and great nephews and other family and friends.
Johnny was preceded in death by his father, Darrell Johnson; grandparents, Clifford Staires, Sr. and Ruth Staires; aunts and uncles, Karen White, Lee Mitchell and Frances Mitchell.
The family will greet friends on Sunday from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Chaney’s Memorial Chapel.
The funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m. Monday at the Pittsburg Baptist Church with Rev. Kenny Morrow officiating. Burial will follow at Pittsburg Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be: Jimmy Sullivan, Joe Sullivan, Tommy Lyons, Cecil Herron, Benny Williams and Michael Daniels.
Honorary Pallbearers will be: Ronnie Rice, Jim Ryan, Tim Turman, Kenny Nalley and Alfred Nalley.
