Andrew Jackson "Andy" Johnson 78, of Kiowa died Monday, November 4, 2024 in Denison, Texas. The family will greet friends 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 6, 2024 at Bishop Funeral Service and Crematory. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, November 7, 2024 at Praise Fellowship Church, 18682 S. US Highway 69, Kiowa officiated by Rev. Linda Snider. Burial will follow at Pittsburg Cemetery, Pittsburg. Pallbearers will be, Don Miller, Mike Farris, Timothy Bryan, Denty Christman, George O’Brien, Lewis McGee, Walt Weeks and Jamie Mitchell. Honorary pallbearers will be, Troy Ivey, Kenneth Snider, Delbert Amason, and the Atoka Choctaw Seniors. Andy was born to Arthur J. and Emma Lou (Scroggins) Johnson on May 29, 1946 in Pittsburg County. He graduated from Pittsburg High School in 1964. Andy married Juanita Griffin on June 16, 1972 in Kiowa. He worked for Katy Railroad and Union Pacific Railroad for 33 years. He then drove a shuttle bus for the Choctaw Nation for several years. He was a proud member of the Choctaw Nation and loved to volunteer and help others. He was a volunteer for the FFA and was also a volunteer for the Kiowa Fire Department for many years. Andy enjoyed gospel singing and often hosted gospel singings in his home. Andy was a member of Praise Fellowship Church in Kiowa. He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur J. and Emma Lou Johnson; an infant sibling; brothers and sisters, James Johnson, Harvey Johnson, Ora Dority, Homer Johnson, Nina Johnson, Vera Nalley, Stella Hampton; sister-in-law, Demett Johnson; brothers-in-law, Tommy Nalley and Jimmie Brown; nephews, Thomas Nalley, Kenny Nalley and Butch Johnson. Andy is survive by his wife, Juanita of the home; son, Andrew Timothy Johnson and wife, Beth Kalyn of Broken Arrow; daughter, Daphne Nicole Johnson of Durant; granddaughter, Nakaia Isabelle Johnson of Durant; brothers, Troy Johnson, Chester Johnson and wife, Lonnie all of Wardville, William Johnson of Blanco; sisters-in-law, Louise Brown of Kiowa, Rhydonia Baucom and husband, Greg of McAlester; nieces and nephews, Alfred Nalley, Judy Nalley, Jody Johnson, Crystal Johnson, Brandy Johnson, Raylene Homer, Donnie Ellis, Danny Ellis, Aaron Brown, Matt Brown, Angela McKee, Brian Baucom; numerous other family members and friends.
