Terry Lee was born October 20, 1960 in Colorado Springs, Colorado to Allen Lee & Jerry Lynn Bingham Ellis. He graduated from Kiowa High School in the class of 1979 and continued his education at Southeastern State University in Durant. Terry later received his cleet certification and joined the McAlester Police force. He served as a patrolman and later worked in the detective division for the last 10 years of his service. Terry retired in 2007 and then began working as a safety officer for the Oklahoma State Highway Department. Terry married Lesa Michelle Folsom on September 16, 1983 at the Pittsburg Free Will Baptist Church in Pittsburg, Oklahoma. Terry was an active member in the Pittsburg County Free Fair board, where he was currently the vice president. He was an avid basketball fan and his most loved team was the Kiowa Cowgirls in which his daughters had played. Terry also enjoyed numerous games as the referee. He enjoyed the time he spent hunting, but his greatest love was spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He is survived by his wife, Lesa (Folsom) Ellis, of the home; Children, Tarra Michelle (Ellis) Miller of Kiowa, Oklahoma, Karissa Brooke Ellis of Kiowa, Oklahoma; Grandchildren, Kendalyn Michelle Basden of Kiowa, Oklahoma, Karis Rylee Miller of Kiowa, Oklahoma; Father, Allen Ellis of Perry, Oklahoma; Mother, Jerry Lynn Ellis of McAlester, Oklahoma; Brothers, John Hilburn & wife, Paula of McAlester, Oklahoma, Ronnie HIlburn of Semmes, Alabama; Sister, Sheila Ellis of Bentonville, Arkansas; Mother-in-law, Rosalee Folsom of Quinton, Oklahoma; Numerous Nieces, Nephews and various other family members. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Ralph & Jewel Bingham and Father-in-law, Loyd Folsom. Active Pallbearers are Mike Daniels, Larry Butler, Doc Nail, Tommy Welsh, Roy Welsh, Edie Ellis. The family will receive visitors from 6-8 p.m. Thursday evening at Bishop Funeral Home. Services will be 2 p.m. Friday at The Expo Center of Southeastern Oklahoma with Rev. Jerry Hollaway officiating.
