Eual Wayne Akins
Pittsburg Calvary Cemetery



Wayne was the son of Cecil Akins and Virginia (Akins) Moore. He attended Jones Academy and graduated from Chilocco Indian School in 1959. He served in the U.S. Army with two tours in Seoul, South Korea. He was a quarter Indian and his occupation was a diecaster. Survivors include his wife, Patricia Akins, of the home; sons, Tony and James Akins, Timothy Duty, of El Reno, Bill Duty, of Milwaukee, Wisc. and daughter, Jeanette Houchin, of El Reno; a daughter, Wendy and husband, Terry Scott, of Muskogee and a son, Anthony Akins and wife, Peggy, of Tahlequah. Also, brothers and sisters, Wanda Akins Mellor, of Dallas, Harold Akins and wife, Helen, of Ardmore, Carol Rice and husband, Jimmy, of Pittsburg, Joyce Church and husband, Cecil, of Pittsburg, Doug Spear and wife, Mary, of Greenville, Texas, Ron Spear, of Dallas, Nancy Hailey and husband, Mike, of Shawnee, Stan Moore, of Pittsburg. And, stepdad, Walter Moore, of Pittsburg; grandchildren, Lisa and Anthony Moss, of Walters, Terry Jr. and Ashley Scott, of Muskogee, and great-grandchildren, Ian Scott, Ava Scott, Mia Scott and Taybor Scott. He was preceded in death by his parents, Cecil Akins and Virginia Evelyn Moore; a brother, James Charles Spear; a niece, Christina Rice; a grandniece, Casey Brannon, and grandnephew, Seven Kennedy. Military services are to be held at a later date. Burial of the ashes will be at Pittsburg Cemetery, Pittsburg. He was a tissue donor for cancer research to LifeLegacy Foundation.
