Melvin V. Riley, age 85, of Eufaula, Oklahoma passed from this life late Wednesday night, September 3, 2008 in a Tulsa hospital. He had suffered with Cancer for some time. Mr. Riley was born in Kendrick, Oklahoma on December 29, 1922 and was the son of Acie and Flora (Hooper) Riley. Melvin graduated from Marimac High School, served his Country as a Master Sergeant in the European Theater with the 8th Army Air Corp during WWII. He formerly worked as a Tool and Die Machinist for Boeing in Wichita, Kansas and Lucent Technology in Oklahoma City. He enjoyed playing golf, fishing, spending time with his family and watching O.U. Football. Mr. Riley is survived by his wife Vera Riley of Cushing; four sons, Jim L. Riley of Alma, Arkansas, Rick L. Riley of Eufaula, Oklahoma, Lee Wayne Riley of Eufaula, Oklahoma, Kendle D. Riley of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and six grandchildren. Melvin was preceded in death by his ever loving wife of forty-six years Phyllis, J. Riley, two brothers and one sister. Mr. Rileys graveside services have been entrusted to the care of the Palmer Marler Funeral Home of Cushing and will be held at 12 Noon on Saturday, September 6, 2008 at the Bower Cemetery in Longtown, Oklahoma.
