Edith Allene Pearce, 82, of Porum, OK passed away Sunday, December 14, 2008 in Quinton, OK. She was born May 10, 1926 in Checotah, OK to Everette and Edna (Stewart) Emberson. Allene graduated from Central High School near Checotah where she grew up. She then attended ConnorE2s College. March 14, 1947 she and A.J. Pearce were united in marriage in Checotah and made their home together on Brooken Mountain until 1969. They then moved to Porum where they spent the remainder of their days. Allene loved gardening and music. She was a member of the Pioneer Free Will Baptist Church and the widow of A.J. Pearce. Allene loved her family and adored her grandchildren.She is survived by five daughters, Sharon Kay and Tom Smith of Quinton, Gwenda and Dean Lemmons of Barnsdall, DiAnn and Johnny Gibson of Quinton, DeAnn and Allen McDowell of Spiro, Vicki and Mike Martin of Tulsa; four sons, Ronnie and Mozelle Pearce of Porum, Randall and Janet Pearce of Quinton, Danny Pearce and Brenda of Sallisaw, Bradley and Regina Pearce of Porum; twenty grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. She was preceded by her parents, Everette and Edna Emberson; husband, A.J. Pearce; three brothers, Marvin, Melvin and Buford Emberson; son, Douglas Pearce; two great-grandchildren, Hunter Pearce and infant boy.Services will be 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, December 17, 2008 at the Pioneer Free Will Baptist Church with Rev. Fred Riddle officiating. Rev. Brian Snow will be the eulogist.Pallbearers will be Brent, Cody, Rustin and Donnavan Pearce, Keenan Gibson and Sammy McDowell. Honorary Pallbearers will be Westley, Rodney, and Doug Pearce, Aaron Godwin, Blake Roberts, Trent Martin and T.J. Daniels. Burial will follow at the Bower Cemetery in Bower Community under the direction of King and Shearwood Funeral Home of Stigler.
