Thomas Howard Lovett, known affectionately as Tommy to his friends and family, passed away peacefully on March 13, 2025, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. A viewing will be 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Bishop Funeral Service and Crematory on Wednesday, March 19, 2025. A graveside service will be held privately for immediate family. Thomas Howard Lovett was born on December 5, 1943, in McAlester, Oklahoma to Howard Lovett and Lenora (Fry) Lovett. Tommy dedicated over a decade of his life to ensuring the safety of others through his work in traffic control with the Flasher Company. His commitment to the well-being of his community extended beyond his professional life as he spent many years delivering gas. Thomas married his wife, Sandra Carolyn Foust on December 26, 1962 in McAlester, Oklahoma. In the early 2000s, Tommy retired, leaving behind a legacy of hard work and reliability that was admired by colleagues and customers alike. Beyond his professional endeavors, Tommy was an active and proud member of Shriners International, an organization committed to philanthropy and brotherhood. His involvement with the Shriners was not just a testament to his charitable nature but also to his belief in the power of community and fellowship. An avid fisherman, Tommy found solace and joy in the tranquility of nature and the love for camaraderie was also evident in his daily visits to his family and the local coffee shop with his buddies. These gatherings were a source of happiness for Tommy, a daily ritual that he looked forward to with great anticipation. As we bid farewell to Thomas Howard Lovett, we celebrate a life well-lived, a journey marked by love, service, and the simple pleasures that make life so precious. Tommy's memory will continue to inspire and comfort those who were fortunate enough to know him. Tommy is survived by his wife, Sandra Lovett of the home; his son, Franklin Lovett and wife, Jeannie of Indianola; grandchildren, Kyle Dee Lovett and wife, Emily of Eufaula, Lance Thomas Lovett and wife, Kristina of McAlester, Candace Banks of McAlester, Codey Cruce and wife, Asha Adeana of McAlester, Cheyanne Lovett-Ellis and husband, Dillon of McAlester, Frankie Jean Lovett-Womack and husband, Robbie of Indianola; twelve great-grandchildren and one on the way; two great-great-grandchildren and one on the way; along with numerous nieces, nephews, other family members and friends. Tommy is preceded in death by his father, Howard Lovett; mother, Lenora (Fry) Lovett; brother, James Lovett; sister, Mildred Kessinger; his uncles, Tom Fry, Lloyd Fry, Johnnie Fry, and Frank Fry Sr.
