Joe David Ivey, 69, of Hartshorne, passed away Wednesday, July 12, at his home near Hartshorne. The family will welcome friends for visitation on Sunday, July 16, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Brumley-Mills Funeral Home in Hartshorne. Funeral services will be Monday, July 17, at 2:00 p.m. at the Assembly of God Church of Hartshorne, with Pastor Mike Pittman officiating. Burial will follow at Blanco Cemetery. Pallbearers are Jeff Irwin, Toby Irwin, Randy Irwin, Terry Ivey, James Goddard, Allan Ray, Curtis Ray, and Bruce Barcheers. Honorary pallbearers are Jack McDougal, Michael Mabry, Jimmy Williams, Mike Haskins, Jacob Edmond, Alfred Smith, Gary Mordecai, Mike Slover, Shawn Sparks, Monte Ivey, Gary Ivey, and Greg Cooley. Joe Ivey was born on Sept. 10, 1953 in McAlester to Robert Calvin "R.C." Ivey and Thelma (Jones) Ivey. He grew up in Dow and has lived in the area all his life. He married Pat Scott on May 3, 1975. Joe worked as a machinist for North American Rockwell, then Boeing, which eventually became Spirit, until he retired. Joe also ranched and loved to work with his cattle. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing. Joe was a family man and loved going to stock shows and helping all his kids show their animals. He was a member of the Haileyville Church of Christ. Joe is survived by his wife, Pat Ivey; his children, Steven Ivey, Angela Cooley and husband Greg, Jody Ivey, Michelle Phillips, David Ivey and wife Dawn, and Michael Ivey and wife Christy; 8 grandchildren, Brock Cooley, Brice Cooley, Bryley Cooley Raylee Jo Phillips, Harbor Faye Ivey, James Taylor, Jacob Taylor, and Jayden Ivey; a brother and sister-in-law, Terry and Deedee Ivey; 2 sisters-in-law, Polly Goddard and Kathy Freeman; aunts, Lois Cooley, and Billie Johnson; and numerous nieces and nephews.
