Donnie Elighie Farley, 76, of Pittsburg, Oklahoma passed away on Friday, September 27, 2024 in Pittsburg, Oklahoma. A memorial service will be 10:00 a.m. on Friday, October 4, 2024 at Bishop Chapel of Memories in McAlester, Oklahoma. Pastor Monty Thompson will be officiating. Inurnment will be at Blanco Cemetery, in Blanco, Oklahoma. Honorary pallbearers will be Robert Allen, Pat Tharp, John Farley Jr., David Farley Larry Aonos, Don Clay. Donnie was born on February 6, 1948 in Indianola, Oklahoma to Alvis Anderson Farley and Ruby Viola (Hyatt) Farley. Donnie's early years were spent in the heartland of Oklahoma, where he graduated from high school with a determination to serve his nation. He answered this call to service by joining the United States Army in 1967 to 1970, where he demonstrated his commitment to his country. After his honorable service, Donnie embarked on a career as a pipeline worker and became a skilled heavy equipment mechanic. His colleagues knew him as a reliable and hardworking individual who took great pride in his craft. He married his wife, Patricia Russell on April 11, 1975 in Seminole, Oklahoma. Beyond his professional life, Donnie was a man of varied interests. He had a passion for the bygone era of westerns, often spending his leisure time engrossed in the adventures of cowboys and the untamed frontier. Donnie was also an avid car enthusiast. He found joy and relaxation in working on cars, a hobby that allowed him to express his mechanical prowess outside of work. repair. As we bid farewell to Donnie, we remember a man who lived a life characterized by dedication, patriotism, and a love for the simple joys. Donnie is survived by his daughters, Priscilla Farley of Arizonia, Trisha Rymer and husband, Steve of Maysville; daughter-in-law, Jamie Farley of Texas; fifteen grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; sister, Vernie Shaffer of Lequire; niece, Stephene Chappell of the home; nephew, Robert Allen of the home; sister-in-law, Gail Farley of Chickasha; brother-in-law, Denver Russell, and wife, Joyce of Texas; best-friend over 30 years, Sam Brannon and wife, Liz; numerous other family members and friends. Donnie is preceded in death by his wife, Patricia (Russell) Farley; son, Travis Leroy Farley; daughter, Lisa Dawn Farley; grandson, Patrick Anthony Stapp; parents, Alvis Anderson Farley and Ruby Viola (Hyatt) Farley; brothers, Jimmy Smith, Cecil Farley, Tommy Farley, twin brother, Johnny Farley, Sr.; sisters, Aretta Smith, Rosie Copple, and Linda Farley.
