Melba Lou Enloe, 83, of Blanco, passed away Sunday, Oct. 27, at McAlester Regional Health Center. Come and go visitation will be Thursday until 8:00 p.m. Funeral services are set for Friday, Nov. 1 at 1:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church of McAlester with Monte Busby officiating. Burial will follow at Blanco Cemetery. Pallbearers are grandsons and grandsons-in-law, Cory Enloe, Ronnie Fennewald, Darr Freeman, Chad Enloe, Trevor Davis, Cody Enloe and Garret Enloe. Melba Enloe was born on Oct. 19, 1941 in Albion, Okla. to Andrew Frank Maxwell and Oieta Lois (Williams) Maxwell. Growing up, she attended Pittsburg School through graduation. Soon after graduating she married John Donald Enloe on Aug. 5, 1961 in Pittsburg. Due to work, they lived in other places for short times, but Pittsburg County, namely the Blanco and Pittsburg area, were home. Melba worked as the manager of Chickasaw Apartments for a few years, then went to work as secretary at the First Baptist Church of McAlester, where she had been a member for 44 years. She was also a member of the Auxiliary of the Gideons International for many years. In her spare-time, Melba enjoyed cooking, sewing, gardening and working puzzles, but most of all, spending time with family. Melba is survived by her children, Donald Glenn Enloe and wife Mona, William Frank Enloe and Gayla Dean, Shelly Dawn Davis and husband Jon, and Kevin John Enloe and Jennifer Johnston; 2 sisters, Barbara McFarland and Sandra Chandler; 17 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, and her husband, John Enloe.
