Monta J. (Westbrook) Jones, 85, of McAlester, died in Weatherford, Texas on Tuesday, May 16, 2023. The family will greet friends on Friday, May 19 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Bishop Funeral Service and Crematory in McAlester. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, May 20, 2023 at at Savanna First Baptist Church officiated by Brother Randall Pearce. Burial will follow at Ashland Cemetery. Monta was born to David F. and Ada Vee (Pate) Westbrook on July 26, 1937 in Duke, Oklahoma. She married J.L. Jones on June 10, 1956, and he preceded her in death in 1969. She attended First Baptist Church of Savanna and Richville Baptist Church. Her hobbies were singing, shopping, dinner with friends, and car rides. Monta was preceded in death by her parents: David F. and Ada Westbrook, her husband: J.L. Jones, and son: Ralph Michael Jones. She is survived by her daughter: Sherryl Weaver and husband, Lendell of Ft. Worth, Texas; daughter-in-law: Pamula Jones of Norman; grandchildren: Brad Jones, Jason Jones, Brittany Jones, Josh Weaver and wife, Olivia; Melissa Weaver; great-grandchildren: Ashlyn, Gunner, Zane, Maddyx, Collier, Ella, and Rowan; her sister: Debbie and husband, Larry Hurd of Altus and their family; and her brother: David Lynn Westbrook of Altus and their family.
