Jesse Louis Perry September 10, 1938 ~ August 1, 2014 Jesse Louis Perry, 75, of Alderson, died Friday, August 1, 2014 in McAlester. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, August 5 at the Ash Creek Cemetery Pavilion, with Rev. O. C. Hawkins officiating. Interment will follow at Ash Creek Cemetery. Military honors will be provided by the Robert B. Thomas, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #1098. Service arrangements are under the direction of Bishop Funeral Service. Born September 10, 1938 in McAlester to Jess and Juanita (Thompson) Perry, Jesse grew up in the McAlester area and entered the U.S. Navy at age 17. Jesse was a retired Vietnam Veteran with several years served in Foreign Service and over 19 years total active service. He was honorably discharged in 1974. Jesse married Ina Lois Mullins on January 17, 1959 in McAlester. He enjoyed gardening, collecting, and working on old cars, tractors, and farm equipment. He especially enjoyed spending time with his family and was very proud of his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Jesse was a life-time member of the VFW Post #1098 where he spent many hours volunteering and held numerous offices over the years. He was also a member of the American Legion and life-time member of the DAV. He is survived by his wife: Ina Lois Perry of the home; daughters: Rena Miller of Alderson, Michelle Bradley of Muskogee; grandchildren: Josh Mason of McAlester, Jesse Miller of McAlester, Lloyd Mason, Cecily Miller of McAlester, Chelsey Heskett of McAlester Also, great-grandchildren: Anna Parham, Honor Heskett, Abbie Parham, Johnny Heskett, Kallen Baker, Ryker Ward; sister: Martha Lalli and husband, Cy of Richville; and brothers and sisters-in-law: Ruth Ann Smith of Quinton, Tony Mullins of Alderson, Jimmie McHenry of McAlester, Dawn McDaniel of Alderson, Colleen Mullins of McAlester. He was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents, brother: James Melvin Perry, and a brother-in-law: Grant Mullins. Pallbearers will be Billy Allen, Adam Watts, Leon Cable, Clint Walker, Jesse Miller, and Vincent Lalli. Honorary pallbearers will be Stacy Zachary, Ricky Zachary, Cody Baker, Josh Mason, Don West, Jeff Harris, and the VFW Post #1098 Members.
