Wesley Parham, 85, died Wednesday, January 25, 2017 at his home in Haywood.
Wesley was born on December 30, 1931 to Gailard & Mildred Kuykendall Parham. He attended Ash Creek schools and then graduated from Haileyville High School in 1950.
He married Rosemary Giaudrone on May 19, 1953.
After high school, he worked at the Shipley Baking Co. He then joined the United States Army where he was stationed in Germany during the Korean War between 1953 and 1955.
Wesley attended and graduated from Eastern Oklahoma State College with an associate's degree in Education and then attended Northeastern State College in Tahlequah where he graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Education. He later received a Masters Degree from East Central State College in Education. Wesley later received his Superintendents Certification from the University of Oklahoma. He taught School and was superintendent at Haywood for 29 years before retiring in 1987.
Survivors include his wife: Rosemary of the home; brother and sister-in-law: Donald & Sue Parham; sons and wives: Roger & Jill Parham of Eufaula, Mark & Donna Parham of McAlester, Randy Parham of Haywood, and Michael Parham of Haywood; aunts: Addith Doughty of Santa Maria, California & Geraldine Bennett of Santa Maria.
Also, grandchildren & spouses: Desarae Moody, Levi Parham, Michael & Liz Parham, Josh Parham, Rachael & Talan Weaver, Allie Parham, Matthew Parham, & Samual Parham; great-grandchildren: Issac Moody, Caleb Whitfield, Ames Weaver, John Weaver, & Juniper Craig; and several nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives.
Wesley was preceded in death by his parents, a sister: Wilma Stansel, and grandparents: Will & Birdie Parham and John and Bell Kuykendall.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday at 2:00 p.m. at Bishop Chapel of Memories with burial at Ash Creek Cemetery. Rev. Darren Schoggins and Rev. Clint Gray will officiate the service.
Active pallbearers will be Levi Parham, Michael Parham, Joshua Parham, Matthew Parham, Samual Parham, & Issac Moody.
Honorary pallbearers will be James Trammell, Raymond Trammell, Joe Brown, Danny Jabara, Jim Gibson, & Billy Don Smith.
