Margie Lee Oneth, age 88, died Saturday, April 1, 2017 in McAlester.
Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, April 5, 2017, at 2:00 pm at Ash Creek Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, April 4, 2017 from 6 to 7:00 pm at Brumley-Mills Funeral Home in McAlester. Arrangements are under the direction of Brumley-Mills Funeral Home of McAlester.
Margie Oneth was born on December 20, 1928 in Pittsburg to Otis Lee "Hobie" and Dovie Mae (Byrd) Quick. She grew up there and graduated from Pittsburg High School. She married J.D. Oneth and they made their home in McAlester for the remaining years. Margie worked as a nurse at the Naval Ammunition Depot (AAP) for a number of years, then worked for the Choctaw Nation as a receptionist for several years. She was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include a daughter, Vickie Oneth Ferden, of McAlester; 5 grandchildren and several great grandchildren; 2 brothers, Royce Quick, of Oklahoma City, Bill Quick, of Pittsburg; sisters, Rita Quick Nelson, of California, Sall Quick Cason, of Pittsburg, Linda Quick Nelson, of Tishimingo, Carol Quick Depue, of Pittsburg; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, J.D. Oneth; and a son, Jason "Butch" Oneth.
Honorary pallbearers are Jason Kirk, Jacob Kirk, Aaron Depue, Wesley Depue, Jeff Cason, Adam McKinney, Eugene Kirk and Wes Oneth.
