Curtis James Mallatt Sr., 80, of Council Hill, Oklahoma, died Friday, March 24, 2006 in Muskogee VA Hospital in Oklahoma. Services will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 29, 2006 at Arpelar Cemetery Pavilion.Interment will follow at Arpelar Cemetery with Military Rites conducted by Robert B. Thomas, Veterans of Foreign Wars, Post #1098. Services are under the direction of Bishop Funeral Service.Kevin Kasparek will officiate. The family will greet friends on Tuesday evening from 6-8 p.m. at Bishop Funeral Service.Pallbearers will be Chris Smith, Jerrold Mathison, Roy Roberts, Raymond Letlow, Chris Black, Mike Howard, Eric Howard, and James D. Orr II. Honorary Pallbearers will be Chuck Mallatt, James Orr, Ricky Freeman, Ronnie Freeman and Victor Goad.
Curtis James Mallatt was born on August 2, 1925 in Quinton, Oklahoma, to Albert and Ollie Mae (Lowe) Mallatt. He attended Quinton School. He worked in the oil fields as well as numerous other jobs. He joined the Navy, then later enlisted into the Army, then re-enlisted into the Marines. He was very active in the Disabled American Veterans and a Chaplain for the D.A.V. Chapter II. Curtis belonged to the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post in Muskogee. He married Kathleen Hickox on May 2, 1977. He was loved by numerous family members and friends. He loved to fish and be outdoors.
Survivors include his wife, Kathleen Mallatt of of the home, seven children and spouses: Curtis James, Jr. & Michelle Mallatt of Antioch, California, Phyllis Brewer of Council Hill, Oklahoma, Arthur Charles & Janice Mallatt of Mokelumme Hill, California, Sudonna & Ronnie Freeman of Stockton, California, Dianna Kelley of Council Hill, Oklahoma, Thresea & James Orr of Checotah, Oklahoma and Carmen & Ricky Freeman of Stockton, California.
A special grandson & spouse, Victor & Jennifer Goad of Augusta, Georgia. Numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert & Ollie Mae (Lowe) Mallatt and two sons; Curtis J. Power and Danny Mallatt.
