Pittsburg County, Oklahoma

James (Jim) Jones, 66, of McAlester, died Thursday, December 4, 2014 in Tulsa. The family will receive visitors from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Sunday, December 7, 2014. A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, December 8 at Bishop Chapel of Memories with Rev. J. T. Carnell and Rev. Bart Patterson officiating. Interment will be at Arpelar Cemetery. Service arrangements are under the direction of Bishop Funeral Service. Born to Malcom Everett “Mack” and Vera (Riddle) Jones March 31, 1948 in McAlester, Jim graduated from Haywood High School in 1966 and graduated from Southern Nazarene University in Bethany with a Bachelor's Degree in Business. Jim served in the U.S. Army Reserve. He married Ann Roberts in 1978 in Arpelar. Jim worked as a salesman for Mellor for 3 years and Nix for 14 years. Jim enjoyed refereeing high school basketball games, was an avid McAlester Buffalo football fan, and attended every home game for 36 years. Jim enjoyed played golf. He was affiliated with the Nazarene Church. Survivors include his wife: Ann Jones of the home; daughter: Shelly Larson and husband, Dave of McAlester; sons: Davy Roberts of Lindsey, Greg Jones and wife, Jennifer of Katy, Texas. Also, grandchildren: Eme Sherman, Bailey Roberts, Robbi Roberts, Broc Roberts, Carson Jones, Katie Jones; brothers: Glenn Jones and wife, Carol of Arpelar, Buck Jones of Arpelar, Charles Jones and wife, Barbara of Ft. Worth, Texas; sister-in-law: Lou Seabourn and husband, Riliegh of Dibble; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents: Mack and Vera Jones, sister-in-law: Frances Jones, and a nephew: Ricky Jones. Pallbearers will be Dale Price, Bruce "Smokey" Wood, Randy Baldwin, Rod Taylor, Tommy Nix, and Riliegh Seabourn.
