Cheryl Lynn (Gray) Allen, 68 of McAlester died Tuesday, February 18, 2025. A graveside service will be 2:00 p.m. Monday, February 24, 2025, at Arpelar Cemetery, which is officiated by Rev. Jody Dominque. Burial will follow. Honorary pallbearers will be Gerald Heathcock and Jim Jeffries. Cheryl was born to Marvin Paul Gray and Evetta Lybrand on February 3, 1957, in Fresno, California. She graduated from McAlester High School. Cheryl married Charles L. "Chuck" Allen on March 3, 1974, in Krebs. She worked as a substitute teacher and volunteer at McAlester Schools in the 1990's. She also helped manage Allens Westside Salvage with her husband Chuck for several years. She was a member of the Red Hat Society. Cheryl loved to collect anything and everything that was Elephant related, from blankets to knick-knacks. She also was an avid movie watcher. She was preceded in death by her father and stepmother, Marvin Gray and Pat Gray; mother, Evetta Lybrand; husband, Charles "Chuck" Allen and a brother, Paul Gray. Cheryl is survived by her son, Jacob Allen and wife, Kara of Erick; daughter, Cherrie Allen of McAlester; grandchildren, Claire Allen, Carter Allen both of Erick; sisters, Kay Dalziel and husband, Craig of Ottawa, Ontario, Canada, Zelina Forester of Scurry, Texas; numerous nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.
