Eddy Bert Wilson, 71, of McAlester, Oklahoma, passed away on Wednesday, October 2, 2024 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. A viewing will be from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Chaney-Harkins Funeral Home in McAlester, Oklahoma. Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday October 5, 2024 at Chaney-Harkins Funeral Home. Reverend Steve Smith will be officiating. Burial will follow at Adamson Cemetery under the direction of Chaney-Harkins Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be Damien Wilson, Michael Anderson Jr., Robert Thornton, Jimmy Smith, and Matt McNeil. Bert was born on July 24, 1953 in Knox City, Texas to Harvey Nute Wilson and Virginia Nell (Murphy) Wilson. Bert proudly completed his education with a high school diploma, which paved the way for his long and dedicated career. He spent many years as an assembly line worker at Aerotronics Manufacturing, and was a carpenter where he was known for his strong work ethic and attention to detail. Outside of work, Bert was a committed member of the Faith Tabernacle community, where he found great joy and solace in fellowship. Bert's interests and hobbies were as genuine and down-to-earth as he was. His warm smile and hearty laugh were a testament to the contentment he found in the simple pleasures of life. As we remember Bert, we celebrate a life well-lived—a life filled with kindness, dedication, and service to others. Bert's legacy is one of quiet strength, unwavering faith, and the enduring bonds he forged with everyone he met. His memory will remain a beacon of light for all who had the privilege of knowing him. Bert is survived by his son, Robert Thornton of Enid; grandchildren, Kody Thornton, Michael Anderson Jr., Ashley Anderson; great-grandchildren, Jacoby Anderson, Jaxton Anderson, Ayden Anderson, Jase Wood; bonus children, Jennie Berkinfeld, Tony Berkinfeld; sisters, Evelyn Bowers, Helen Watson, Myrtle Shores, Barbara Wilson, Linda Morgan, Carolyn Smith, Veda Hampton; brother, Doyal Wilson; numerous other family members and friends. Bert is preceded in death by his wife, Alma (Adams) Wilson; parents, Harvey and Virginia Wilson; brothers, Johnny Wilson, Steve Wilson, Jesse Wilson; sisters, Mary Loper, Kathleen Shelton, Janeice Wilson.
