Shreveport, Louisiana March 2009 September 12, 1926 ~ March 11, 2009 Jack was the eldest son of Elba A. & Florence [Conger] Tiger and the eldest of six siblings. Jack was a full blood native American, half Sac and fox and half Euchee. In 1994, he was selected by his Indian Tribe, the Sac and Fox Nation, as Senior Man of the Year. Jack served in the US Navy at age 17. He served in the Admiralty Islands on the destroyer USS Bache in WWII. In 1955, Jack enlisted in the USAF where he attended air training command to be certified in aircraft mechanics. He volunteered and served two tours of duty in the Vietnam Conflict where he served as C-123 crew chief with the 19th Special Operations Squadron and his tour of duty was cut short when his plane was shot down and he remained the only surviving member. In April 1974, after 22 years of service, he retired with many honors. Jack was employed with Boeing Aircraft and Northrop Air and belonged to the Barksdale Aero Club. In 1994, he was selected by the Sac and Fox Nation as Senior Man of the Year. Jack was married to Maxine J. [Hasty] Tiger in 1976. Tiger was born in Kyleville, Oklahoma on August 18, 1931 and departed this life in Tulsa, Oklahoma on Sunday, December 18, 2011 at the age of 80 years. Herschel was the son of Elba and Florence [Conger] Tiger. Herschel was a resident of Stroud most of his life. He was in the United States Army where he served in the Korean Conflict. He was a member of the VFW and American Legion in Cushing and worked as a Welder. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and two brothers. Survivors include, One Son, Randall Tiger of Cushing, OK, One Daughter, Cheryl Tiger of Cushing, Ok, Three Sisters, Yvonne Goodeagle of Cushing, OK, Dorothy Tiger of Albuquerque, NM, Corrine Tsoodle of Cushing, OK, Two Grandchildren, Caleb Henry Tiger of Pawnee, OK, Ashtin Tiger of Pawnee, OK, Other relatives and friends. Wake service will be held at the Sac & Fox Community Building on Wednesday, December 21, 2011 at 7:00 P.M. Burial will be in the Tiger Family Cemetery on Thursday, December 22, 2011 at 10:00 A.M. under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Service in Stroud, Oklahoma. |
Oklahoma City, Oklahoma September 2021 September 29, 1934 ~ September 16, 2021 Dorothy J Tiger, a Saux & Fox Nation tribal elder, passed away on Thursday, September 16, 2021 in Oklahoma City with her family by her side at the age of 86. Traditional burial will be held at 10:00am, Monday, September 20, 2021 at the Tiger Family Cemetery in Cushing, OK. Wake services will be held on Sunday at the Tiger Family Home. |

He passed from this life on Thursday February 18, 2021 in Cushing, OK having reached the age of 67. He was raised in Tulsa, OK graduating from Will Rogers high school in 1972. He was a member of the Skedee band of the Pawnee Nation. He was also Sac and Fox and Yuchi. He worked in avionics after graduating from Spartan School of Aeronatuics in Tulsa, OK. After retirement he made his home in Cushing, OK. Rusty is survived by: daughter, Echo Tiger Adair, son, Orion “Rion” Tiger, sisters Patty Beaston and Renata Tiger, brother-in-law, Karl Beaston. Grandchildren, Dominic Tiger Hamilton, Dimitri Tiger Hamilton, Riland Tiger and Drake Adair, one uncle Charles “Buddy” Lone Chief, aunts, Marlene Lone Chief Kent, Yvonne Goodeagle & Dorothy Tiger. He leaves behind a host of cousins and extended family. Also, his Sac and Fox adopted daughters, Rachel and Raynelle Riley. Besides his parents, Lloyd and Patricia, he was preceded in death by one infant daughter Tiffany Nicole Tiger, his grandparents, Elba and Florence [Conger] Tiger and Charles Lone Chief Sr and Mae Hazel Wright Lone Chief, uncles Jack Tiger and Herschel Tiger. Rusty loved following his traditional ways and love the pow-wow arena dancing Men's Straight and Grass. |
