CUSHING ~ Services for Marie Lozier will be at 10:30 am Monday, Sept 13, in the Strode Chapel in Stillwater with the Rev Warren Lamons officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens under the direction of Strode Funeral Home.

Mrs Lozier died Thursday, Sept 9, 1993 at the age of 86.

She was born Feb 22, 1937 in Sandoval, Ill to James H. and Anna Bell [Brannon] Hutchison.

She attended school in Alluer & Nowata and lived most of her life around Ripley.

She married Orlando S. Lozier and he preceded her in death in 1970.

She traveled with family friends in the United States, Canada, Mexico, Israel and Peru.

She was a member of the Oak Street Baptist Church and was predeceased by her parents and one brother.

Mrs Lozier is survived by five sons, Billy Walker of Bakersfield, Calif, James Lozier of Austin, Texasm Bobby Lozier of Yale, Guy Lozier of Cushing and Ernest Lozier of Glencoe, 12 grandchildren; and 24 great1grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Lloyd Stollings, Ross Lozier, Johnny Boyles, Seth Moore, Robert Mitchell, Bob Mitchell and Jim Boyles, honorary

Thelma Mae Whitten Lozier
March 3, 1913 ~ January 8, 2011


Thelma Mae Whitten Lozier, former Cushing resident now of Oklahoma City, passed away on Saturday, January 8, 2011 in the Windsor Hills Nursing Center at the age of 97 years.

The daughter of the late, Walter A. Whitten and Sara J. Ross Whitten, Thelma was born on March 3, 1913 in Norman, OK and was raised and educated in Cleveland County.

She was united in marriage to Marion B. Lozier on May 12, 1930 in Moore, OK. To this union five children, Wanoma, Martha, Ralph, Roger, and Larry, were born. Marion preceded her in death on June 29, 1978.

Thelma was a longtime member of the First Baptist Church.

Survivors include two daughters, Martha Tharp and her husband Eugene of McAlester, OK and Wanoma Francione of Oklahoma City; two sons Ralph Lozier of Farmington, NM and Roger Lozier and his wife Candise of Aurora, CO; thirteen grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren and some great-great-grandchildren and other relatives and friends.

In addition to her parents and husband, Thelma was preceded in death by one son, Larry Lozier; five brothers and four sisters.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, January 12, 2011 at 2:00 P.M. in the Davis Memorial Chapel with John Carney officiating.

Burial will follow in the Sunset Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Stillwater.

Donald Ross Lozier
June 21, 1933 ~ May 9, 1994


CUSHING ~ Donald Ross Lozier, 60, 1407 Bell Creek Dr, died Monday, May 9, 1994, at the Cushing Regional Hospital.

The Services will be held at 2pm Wednesday, May 11, at the First Freewill Baptist Church. The Rev Gerry Banks will officiate, Burial will follow in the Sunset Memorial Gardens cemetery. Services are under the direction of Davis Funeral Home.

Lozier was born on June 21, 1933, in Healdton to Ingram and Daisy Barry Lozier, and was reared and educated in that area.

Following his high school graduation, he entered the US Army, serving 4 years.

He married Beth Nation on Aug 9, 1955, in Elmore City. The couple had lived in California before coming to Cushing in 1966.

Lozier had been employed by Shell Pipeline for more than 27 years prior to his retirement in February 1992.

He was a member of the First Baptist Church and had been an active member of the Oil Patch Twirlers for several years.

He is preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Bill.

Survivors include his wife, Beth, of the home; two daughters, Janice Cooper and her husband, Curtis, of Cushing and Lissa Lozier of Tulsa; and two grandchildren, Jayson Cooper and Nathan Cooper.
