© Palmer Marler Funeral Home Stillwater, OK January 2011 Dr Lawrence Harold "Larry" Hammer November 16, 1941 ~ January 18, 2011 Dr. Lawrence "Larry" Hammer, 69, of Stillwater, passed away on Tuesday, January 18, 2011 at his home. Larry was born on November 16, 1941 to Harold and Dorothy Hammer in Dallas, Texas. Larry served in the 82nd Airborne Infantry Division during the Cuban Missile Crisis. He was an accounting professor at OSU for close to 30 years, beginning in 1977. He authored the book "Cost Accounting" which has several editions and is used as a textbook nationwide. He served as the President of the Nottingham Homeowner's Association and as Treasurer for the James Halligan State Senate campaign. Larry never lost his love of flying and spent his spare time building model and remote control airplanes of all types. He is survived by the love of his life, Jane [Nickelson] Hammer of the home, brother Darrell and his wife Lynn of Garland, Texas; and niece Deborah Hammer, as well as numerous friends. Private Services will be held at a later date. |
