Luceta Elizabeth [Johnson] Williams
September 25, 1923 ~ July 2, 2011


Luceta Elizabeth Williams, a longtime Cushing resident, passed away on Saturday, July 2, 2011 at her home in Cushing at the age of 87. She was born on September 25, 1923 in Cushing, Oklahoma to the late Samuel and Mima Brown Johnson.

She grew up in Cushing and attended Booker T. Washington School and remained in Cushing all of the life.

Luceta married the love of her life, George L. Williams Sr. on March 5, 1941 in Cushing. To this union ten children were born. She was an active homemaker. Luceta enjoyed sewing, gardening and cooking. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

Luceta is survived by her children, Harold Glen Williams and wife Willia of Forest Park, Oklahoma, George L. Williams Jr. and wife Yvonne of Jacksonville, Florida, Sharon Lee Redricks and husband Leroy of Tulsa, Latteria Terrance Williams Sr. and wife Edwina of Edmond, Gwendolyn Kay Williams of Cushing, Jerry G. Williams and wife Lisa of Oklahoma City, Edwin Lynn Williams of Midwest City, Oklahoma, Flora Eunice Mann and husband Bernard of Yukon, Georgetta Williams of Oklahoma City, Brian Keith Williams and wife Imelda of Kermit, Texas, brothers, Jesse Lee Johnson of Paramount, California, Wilburn Johnson and wife Gussie of Cushing, twenty-one grandchildren and nineteen great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, George L. Williams Sr., brothers, Ozie Albert Johnson and Marron Johnson, sisters, Anna Mae Willis and Lorreta Johnson and one great grandchild.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday, July 9, 2011 at the First Baptist Church Cushing. Interment will follow at Silver Star Cemetery, Cushing.

Arrangements are entrusted to Palmer Marler Funeral Home, Cushing, Oklahoma.

Nevaeh Vanity Williams, infant daughter of Mercedes Williams, passed away Sunday, April 3, 2011 in Tulsa.

Funeral services have been entrusted to Palmer Marler Funeral Home of Cushing, which will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, April 9, 2011 in the Palmer Marler Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Johnson Vickers officiating. Burial will follow in the Silver Star Lodge Cemetery.

Nevaeh is survived by her Mother Mercedes Williams and Maternal Grandmother Kimberly Williams and a host of other relatives.
