© Davis Funeral Home Cushing, Oklahoma March 2008 June 30, 1934 ~ March 19, 2008 Alceed Thomas, retired truck driver, passed away on Wednesday, March 19, 2008 at his residence at the age of 73 years, after a long battle with prostate cancer. The son of the late Eldridge Thomas and Cora Lee Walters Thomas, Alceed was born on June 30, 1934 in Lane, Oklahoma. His parents moved their family to Frederick, Oklahoma in 1953. Alceed graduated from Boyd High School in Frederick. He was united in marriage to Rosie Lee Weakley on June 5, 1957 in Vernon, TX. To this union five children, Alceed, Jr., Billy, Otis, Wanda and Linda were born. Alceed worked for more than 34 years for the Bill Ahrberg Milling Company of Cushing before retiring in 1997. Survivors include his wife of over fifty years, Rosie Lee, of the home; children, Alceed Thomas, Jr. and his wife Darlene of Broken Arrow, Billy Wayne Thomas of Louisville, Kentucky, Otis Lee Thomas of Honolulu, Hawaii, Wanda Faye Deal and her husband Ronnie of Alexandria, Louisiana and Linda Faye Thomas of Cushing; fourteen grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; four brothers, Isaiah Thomas of Phoenix, AZ, Frank Thomas and his wife Virginia of Spencer, OK, William Thomas and his wife Doreen of Lawton, OK and T.C. Thomas and his wife Jeannie of Spencer, OK; three sisters, Evelyn Bivens and her husband Wyatt of Oklahoma City, Ida Shaw of Los Angeles, CA and Lucy Hill of Oklahoma City; one aunt, Pauline Walters of Atoka, OK and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. In addition to his parents, Alceed was preceded in death by two sisters and one great grandson. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 22, 2008 at 11:00 A.M. in the Assembly of God Church with Brother Clarence Powell, officiating. Burial will follow in the Silver Star Cemetery. |
