© Palmer Marler Funeral Home Cushing, OK - Payne and Lincoln County October 2021 April 10, 1950 ~ October 20, 2021 James "Jim" Edward Lauerman, longtime Cushing resident, passed from this life on Wednesday, October 20, 2021, in Tulsa, OK with family by his side. Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Palmer Marler Funeral Home. A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 23, 2021, at the Cushing High School Fieldhouse. Jim was born on April 10, 1950, to Ruth Mary [Fisher] and John Joseph Lauerman in Burbank, California. Jim graduated from St. John Evangelist Catholic School. After completing high school, Jim earned his bachelor's degree and later his master's degree from Oklahoma State University. Jim was best known for his 36 years as principal at Cushing High School. He touched many lives while helping his students succeed. Jim's passion outside of school was the rodeo. He was a board member on the Cushing Rodeo Board and in charge of the grounds for the Cushing Rodeo Arena for numerous years. Jim was also active in the Payne County Youth Services. When Jim needed to get away, he would take a trip out to Red River, New Mexico. Jim enjoyed being the in great outdoors: golfing, roping, and fly fishing. Every night he enjoyed a heaping bowl of Rainbow Sherbet. Jim's greatest joy in life was his family. Spending time with his kids and grandkids always put a smile on his face. Jim's legacy will never be forgotten and will live on through every life he has touched. Jim is preceded in death by his father, John Joseph Lauerman. Jim is survived by his wife, Katy Lauerman; three children: Megan Boudreaux and husband, Tyler, Ryan Lauerman, Kelsey Lauerman; his mother, Ruth Mary Lauerman; two grandchildren, Brady Boudreaux and Madden Boudreaux; three siblings, Anne France and husband, John, Mark Lauerman and wife, Debbie Ashmore, Jeanne Simanski and husband, David. Jim is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives. |
