Hubert Alexander Ellis
February 18, 1948 ~ April 6, 2018

On the bright sunshine filled day of February 18, 1948 a legend was born. Hubert Alexander Ellis was born to the late Amie Butler Griffin and Albert Alexander Ellis Sr. Both parents, one sister Gertie Wilson and grandson Darnell Ellis preceded him in death.

Hubert graduated from Cushing High School in 1966 where he excelled in sports as a champion in football and wrestling.

Hubert loved God and his spirit filled dedication was evident through his service to the Mount Olive Baptist Church in the capacity of deacon.

He was a master butcher and an all-around cowboy riding bulls and bucking broncos. He had a passion for storytelling and cockfighting. Hubert was a kind, loyal, lovable people person with an outgoing energetic magnetism and he loved the ladies. He singlehandedly kept the Cushing Bottoms beautiful by tailoring everyones lawns to perfection. He was also the sharpest and best dressed man in Cushing.

Hubert and Elweeder Josie Brannon were united in Holy matrimony and to this union only 1 child was born, daughter Tywna Ellis.

Hubert leaves to cherish his memory his daughter Tywna Ellis and son Eric McVay both of Cushing, Oklahoma; Sister Adwina Hancock of Arkansas; Uncle Hubert Butler namesake of East St. Louis, Illinois; brother Sam Tatum Griffin; Play daughters Chandra Warren and Twyla Johnson; Grandchildren Timothy McDowell, Jeremy Prather, Adrian and Pete McVay-Shanklin; Kyandre, Eva, and Josie Ellis, Little Tywna; and Aunt Viola Fletcher of Bartlesville, Oklahoma.
