© Strode Funeral Home Stillwater, Oklahoma December 23, 2007 Jo Ann "Jo" Guthrie Green Jo Ann "Jo" Guthrie Green, 76, died Sunday, Dec. 23, 2007, surrounded by her family. Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in Strode Funeral Home in Stillwater. Interment will be in Perkins Cemetery under the direction of Strode Funeral Home. Jo was born in Duncan on May 18, 1931, and was a graduate of Pryor High School, class of 1949. She graduated from OAMC (OSU) in 1953 with a degree in sociology. She and her husband had been married 56 years on the day of her passing. She raised four loving daughters while accompanying her husband on his 25-year tour with the U.S. Army to multiple Army posts in the United States and overseas. In 1981, Jo and her husband settled in Perkins . She enjoyed baking, sewing, aerobics, crossword puzzles and correcting her grandchildren's grammar. Jo was predeceased by her parents, Roy Dean and Corinne Guthrie, and a brother, Roy Dean Jr. She is survived by her husband, Col. William R. Green, USA Retired, of Perkins ; four daughters, Ricky Green Newkirk of Bartlesville, Jo Allison Green-Dragony and her husband Steve of Farmington, N.M., Kelly Hamilton-Coyer and her husband Brad of Oklahoma City and Jamie Green and her partner Lisa Dipzinski of Colorado Springs, Colo.; and seven grandchildren, Capt. Court Newkirk, USAF, Jacob Cheverton, Rachel, Allison and Megan Dragony, SRA Justin Hamilton ANG, Julie Hamilton and Joseph Coyer. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Association or Alzheimer's Foundation of America. |
