Broaderick was born in Cincinnati, Ohio September 3, 1840, and passed away at the home of his daughter, Mrs Stella Bright, at Covington, Oklahoma September 18, 1938, aged 98 years and 15 days. He came with his family to Leavenworth, Kansas at the age of 7. He Lived in Kansas until 1894, when he moved to Oklahoma, settling on the farm in Eden township that he owned at the time of his death. Mr Broaderick was united in marriage with Alice Broaderick at Topeka, Kansas, on May 21, 1892. Survivors beside his wife, Mrs Alice Broaderick, are six daughters: Stella Bright, Covington, Okla; Edna Sherlock, Long Beach, Cal; Myrtle McMillan, Artesia, Cal; Dorothy Allred, Bellflower, Cal; Mrs Haley Oyster, Ponca City, and Bettie Broaderick at home, and one son, Willard Broaderick, Vinita. Three children preceded their father in death. Four grandchildren and five. great grandchildren also survive. At the age of 21 he entered service in the Civil War. Funeral services were held at the Strode Funeral Home, Tuesday, September 20, 1938 at 2 o'clock p.m., Rev V. A. Doty officiating. Burial was at Moore cemetery, north of Stillwater. |
