Ethel Irene Bonebrake Self, age 93, went to meet the Lord at 2:00 a.m. Easter Sunday, April 16, 2006, at Concordia Care Center.
She was born in Ralston, Oklahoma and lived in Oklahoma most of her life. Later living in Missouri, California, and then 19 years in Arkansas.
At age 17 she married Jack C. Self, they had 3 daughters and 1 son.
She completed 7th grade and was self taught to sew, knit, crochet, do bead work, and make jewelry. She wrote poems that were published including two books.
She also volunteered in many hospitals and nursing homes.
She was three times Mrs. Senior Citizen of Benton County.
Her husband, father, mother, 4 sisters, and 2 brothers preceded her in death.
Survivors include all of her children, 7 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be in Yale, Oklahoma at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, April 19th at the Davis Yale Chapel with interment at Lawson Cemetery in Yale.
