Wilbur Emmons, longtime retired Escott’s Employee, passed away on Thursday, March 29, 2007 at his residence at the age of 78 years.

The son of the late Harry and Julia Emmons, Wilbur was born on October 12, 1928 in Stillwater and was reared and educated in the Ripley area, graduating from Ripley High School.

He was united in marriage to Edna Frazee on April 7, 1951 in Yale and to this union three daughters, Teresa, Debbie and Dena were born.

Wilbur had worked for Escott’s grocery for over 31 years, prior to his retirement. He was a member of the Council Valley Baptist Church; a Veteran of the United States Army; enjoyed farming, gardening and spending time with his family and friends.

Survivors include his wife Edna of the home; three daughters, Teresa Labus and her husband Danny of Yale, Debbie Peevy and her husband Tommy of Collinsville and Dena Risinger of Edmond; three brothers, Earl Emmons and his wife Virginia of Stillwater, Tommy Emmons and his wife Deloris of Roswell, NM and Reverend Roy Emmons and his wife Norma of Coweta; one sister, Nina Smith of Bartlesville; 7 granddaughters, Leslie, Tracy, Christa, Julia, Jennifer, Amanda and Courtney; 11 great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers and one sister.

Services will be held on Monday, April 2, 2007 at 10:00 A.M. in the Council Valley Baptist Church, 19016 E 44th St, with Pastor Steve Tiger officiating.

Burial will follow in the Sunset Memorial Gardens in Stillwater.
