Janis Lynae Dawes, longtime Yale resident, passed away on Saturday, Sept. 13, 2008, at her residence at the age of 37 years.
The daughter of David and Lynda Burton, Janis was born on February 3, 1971 in Jackson, MS. Her biological parents were Robert Fields and Rita Arnold.
She was united in marriage to Ron Dawes on Dec. 15, 1990 and to this union two children, Jacquelyn and Jacob were born.
In addition to being a homemaker, Janis had worked for several years as a dental assistant.
She enjoyed sewing, working with arts and crafts; cake decorating, shopping and spending time with her family and friends.
Survivors include her two children, Jacquelyn and Jacob Dawes of Yale; Ron Dawes of Yale; her mother Lynda Call of Seattle, WA; her grand parents, Tom and Ann Albro of Seattle, WA; her special in-laws, Larry and Shelley Dawes of Yale; a sister Shannon Burton of Seattle, WA; two brothers, Tommy Inteman of Seattle, WA and Robert Fields, Jr. of Arkansas; three sisters-in-law, Dana Dawes, Karry Dawes and Kathy White all of Yale; an aunt, Keri Cook and an uncle Fritz Wollett both of Seattle, WA; two cousins, Renee Cook and Megan Gruver; several nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. Dana Dawes and Lori Michaels were sisters of choice, not of blood and the three will be together forever.
She was preceded in death by her birth mother, Rita Arnold and her adopted father, David Burton.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, Sept. 19, 2008 at 2 P.M. in the First Baptist Church in Yale with Brother Michael Dersham in charge.
Burial will follow in the Underwood Cemetery.
