Eleanor Jean Cox passed away on Monday morning, February 23, 2009 in Grove, at the age of 89 years.
She was born on October 30, 1919 to Thomas Graham and Ella Mae Fitzpatrick at Pottstown, PA.
Eleanor was born again in baptism along with her husband at the age of 86 by Brother Bob Toland at the Perkins Church of the Firstborn.
She was an excellent cook and loved cooking for her family. She was also quite the fisherman and most of all loved shopping.
She grew up in Long Beach, CA.
She joined the Army at a young age, serving in Colorado, and was a chauffeur for the upper rank.
Eleanor had worked as a hair stylist in Dyer, TN, and had her own dog kennel and grooming service in Grove. While living in Cushing she had worked for Zip Trip.
She had been married for over 45 years to Daley Cox prior to his death in Jan. of 2008.
Survivors include two daughters, Brenda Turney of Grove and Donna Brandon of Topeka, KS; four grandchildren, Jimmy Mathia and his wife Jamie, Megan Salvaty and her husband Richard, Diane Miller and Laura Miller; 8 great grandchildren; brother and sister-in-law, Rick and Barbara McCoy of Stillwater and Midge Cox of Cushing; a host of special nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends.
In addition to her parents, Eleanor was preceded in death by two sisters, Dorothy and Anna; husbands Riley Brandon and Daley Cox.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, Feb. 26, 2009 at 2 P.M. in the Perkins Church of the Firstborn with Brother Roger Lane and Brother Scott Heddleston in charge.
Serving as casket bearers will be Jim Mathia, Adam Henington, Luke Kruse, Eddie Hobbs, Clay Harmon and Dale Bateson.
Burial will follow in the Fairlawn Cemetery at Cushing.
