Ruth P. Clemons, long time Cushing resident, passed away on December 21, 2008 at the Cushing Regional Hospital at the age of 92 years.

The daughter of the late John and Ellar Acklin, Ruth was born on April 6, 1916 in Wiseman, Arkansas. She came to Oklahoma at an early age.

She was united in marriage to Willard Clemons on October 25, 1936 at Yale, OK and they had two sons, Dewayne and Rick.

She is survived by one son, Rick Clemons of Dallas, TX; a daughter-in-law Darlene Smith and her husband Vernon of Wichita, KS; grandchildren include Frances Engle and husband Paul of Wichita, Wesley Clemons and wife Margo of El Dorado, KS, Mark Clemons of Wichita, KS, Benjamin Clemons and Russell Clemons both of Dallas, TX; great grandchildren include Charoline Clemons, Josuah Clemons, Chad Clemons, Levi Clemons, Kaylie Clemons, Ian Clemons, Caroline Clemons and Lucas Clemons; a brother and his wife Johnnie and Imogene Acklin of Yale; one sister-in-law Mildred Hampton of Yale and other relatives and friends.

In addition to her parents, one brother Earl Acklin and one sister Mae Phillips preceded her in death.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, Dec. 24, 2008 at 10 A.M. in the Memorial Chapel of the Davis Funeral Home with Pastor Mike Clark, pastor of the First Church of God in Yale, officiating.

Burial will follow in the Lawson Cemetery at Yale.
