Scott Lee Anderson made the transition from his earthly home in Oklahoma City at the age of 46 years to the heavenly one on April 15, 2009.
Scott was born November 4, 1962 to Norma Hockemeyer Smith and Gale Anderson.
He grew up in Cushing and attended Cushing Public Schools.
Scott attended the Canadian Valley Baptist Church where he was also baptized.
He donated to several organizations. Feed the Children was one of his favorites.
In 1983 he married Casey Cook Cackler and they had a son Jacob Scott Anderson Creager on February 18, 1984. Casey and Scott reside in Dallas, Texas.
He loved to ride his Harley every chance he got. He traveled across the United States one year with his greatest companion Romell (his rottweiler). Romell was his best friend for many years until he lost him from old age. Romell could never be replaced in Scott’s heart. Romell was his one and only companion.
Scott was an avid fan of the Dallas Cowboys. He never missed a game. He also loved the Boston Celtics.
In his later years he became a devoted Christian and his family is celebrating his victory. Scott loved his family and friends, but his greatest love was with Jesus Christ our Lord and he loved telling others about Him. Scott spent a lot of time reading and studying the Bible. His favorite Psalms were: Psalm 34 and Psalm 23.
His biggest hero was his brother Mike; he always talked about all the good times they had growing up. Scott always remembered one funny story after another and always liked to joke around. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
Scott loved spending time with his mother, brother, grandmother and his nephew Bryan. He became a grandfather April 16, 2008, for the first time to Logan Creager...he was the love of his life.
Scott is survived by his mother: Norma Smith and stepfather Roger Smith of Granbury, TX, Father: Gale Anderson of Cushing, OK, brother: Michael and wife Redonna Olesen Anderson of Cushing, OK. Grandmother; Christine Anderson of Cushing, OK. His son: Jacob Anderson Creager and Grandson: Logan Creager of Cushing, OK, His nephew: Matthew and wife Stephanie Dhimmar Anderson of Plano, TX, nephew Bryan Anderson of Cushing and many cousins.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother Murle Hockemeyer of Yale, OK and grandfather Arthur Hockemeyer of Avery, OK, Mr. and Mrs. Bill Hockemeyer of Avery, OK paternal grandfather Jake Anderson of Cushing, OK, Dona and Orville Okelley of Cushing, OK.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, April 20, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. at the First Christian Church – Disciples of Christ with Dr. Larry Haney, officiating.
Burial will follow at the Fairlawn –New Zion cemetery.
Serving as casket bearers will be Bryan Anderson, Paul Olesen, Lonnie Anderson, Rusty Todd, Steve Anderson and Mike Anderson.
