Oklahoma March 1901 Sylvester Middleton September 10, 1849 ~ March 5, 1901 Sylvester Middleton Dies of Heart Trouble Sylvester Middleton, aged 51 year residing eight miles northwest of this city died Tuesday afternoon at 1:30 o'clock from heart trouble. Mr Middleton had for several months been troubled with heart disease and the night before his death was unable to go to bed owing to a severe pain in his heart. Tuesday morning he came to town with a neighbor, W. S. Lyle to consult a physician regarding his trouble and get some medicine. At 1 o'clock he entered R. L. Steen's store and in conversation stated that he was feeling worse and took some medicine which he had prepared and in a few minutes fell from the chair in which he was sitting. Dr Barnes was summoned and with the help of medical aid no life could be restored. The deceased has been a resident of this county for seven years, having moved here from Lynn county, Kansas in 1894. He leaves a wife and two sons. One son resides in Ossawatomie, Kansas, the other living at home. The bereaved family have the heart felt sympathy of the entire community. |
