Kenneth Freeland Wood, 60, passed from this life on February 19, 2017 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. There will be the traditional feast at 12:00 p.m. and the funeral will follow at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 22, 2017 at Bah Kho Je Chena in Perkins, Oklahoma. Interment will follow at the Kent Family Cemetery. Strode Funeral Home is entrusted with arrangements.
He was born on February 17, 1957 to Freeland Wood Jr. and Emma Bigsoldier Wood in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
He was a member of Central Oklahoma Tribal Society, Iowa Community Elders; he was a member of the Fox Clan with Sac & Fox Tribe. He was a LPN and he worked a community health representative for the Iowa Tribe. Kenney served as spokesman for families at traditional ceremonies. He was baptized in 1971 at the Assembly of God Church in Shawnee, OK.
He is predeceased by his father; grandparents Freeland Wood Sr. and Lorena Mack Wood and Jacob and Rachel Bigsoldier; three brothers, Brian Wood, Quinton Wood and Stephen Wood.
He is survived by his mother Emma Bigsoldier Smith and husband, Danny; one son David Wood; two daughters, Susan Wind and husband William, Melissa Wood; seven grandchildren, Tristyn, Briana, Izaiah, Skylar, Ezra, Xzavier, Kyerra; two brother; Eric Wood, Eddie Wood; one sister Robyne Miller and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
