Robert Wayne McClellan Sr
January 5, 1949 ~ October 21, 2009

Robert Wayne McClellan, Sr., 60, of Agra, OK, died on Wednesday, October 21, 2009 in Cushing, OK. His funeral service will be held at 2:00 p. m., on Saturday, October 24, 2009, at the Bah-Kho-Je-Chena Building in Perkins, OK, with Reverend Thomas Morris officiating. Interment will be in Iowa Tribal Cemetery, Perkins, OK. Strode Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

He was born on January 5, 1949 in Cushing, Oklahoma, to Frank Sr. and Elvina Small McClellan. He married Lucy McClellan on July 7, 1986 in Miami, Oklahoma. They later divorced.

He belongs to the Sac and Fox, Iowa, and Otoe Tribes. In his youth he was a Champion Fancy Dancer and Hoop Dancer. He is a member of the Native American Church and Vice-Chairman on the Iowa Chapter. He served as the Vice-Chairman of the American Indian Exposition from 1997 to 2004 in Anadarko, OK., Vice-Chairman of the Iowa Tribe Pow-Wow Committee and was a member of the Sac and Fox Pow-Wow Committee. He enjoyed going to pow-wows, gourd dancing and straight dancing.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Elvina McClellan; brothers, Russell, Thomas and Billy McClellan; and his sister, Judy Fern McClellan. He is survived by one son, Jr. McClellan; three daughters, Robin McClellan, Roberta Whitehorn and Lucy Jealous of Him; four grandchildren, Isabell Marie and Edward George, Derek Whitehorn and Matt Jealous of Him Jr.; three brothers, Frank McClellan Jr., Benny McClellan Sr., and Henry McClellan Sr., and two sisters, Dollie Modlin and Pamela Neal. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Active pallbearers will be Billy McClellan Jr., Jeffrey McClellan, Russell McClellan, Chub McClellan, Benny McClellan Jr. and Elwood McClellan. Honorary pallbearers will be Matthew Jealous of Him, Derek Whitehorn and Edward George.
