© The Ripley Bulletin Ripley, Oklahoma Thursday, March 27, 1913 Page 1, Column 6 March 26, 1855 ~ March 16, 1913 Ripley, OK Mrs. Quimby Passes Away Mrs. Josephine Quimby passed away at her home four miles southeast of Ripley on Monday night of this week, of heart trouble, after a long and painful illness of two years duration. She was born in Indiana 58 years ago, and later came west with her parents and settled in Nemaha county, Kansa, where she married B. Quimby. At the opening of old Oklahoma they took a claim near Glencoe, where they resided until about three years ago when they removed to their present home. Mrs. Quimby was a loving wife and mother and had hosts of friends. Besides a loving husband she leaves eight children to mourn her death, Mrs. Lottie Hadley of Pawnee, Mrs. Ella Merrift of Sayre, Bert and Ed of Pawhuska, Elvin, of Blackwell, Frank, Howard and Ralph of Ripley, all of whom attended the funeral except Mrs. Hadley, who was unable to attend on account of sickness at home. The funeral was held from the family home on Wednesday and interment was made in the Hart cemetery near Glencoe. |
