Daisy Myrlene Dedmon, retired cook for the Ripley Public Schools, passed away on Saturday, February 24, 2007, at her residence at the age of 66 years.

The daughter of the late Everett Murl Brooks and Ella Mae Tucker Brooks, Daisy was born on October 1, 1940 in Keiser, Arkansas and was reared and educated in Edenburg, TX.

She was united in marriage to James Daniel Dedmon on June 23, 1978 in Fremont, CA and the couple came to Oklahoma and made their home in Cushing later that year.

Daisy was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church where she also played the organ; she enjoyed gardening, reading, working with crafts, listening to music and spending time with her family and friends. She was a beautiful lady inside and out.

Currently she has one son-in-law and four grandchildren in active military service and she made sure her friends continued praying for them.

She is survived by her children, Shirley Gamble and her husband Darrell of Rogersville, MO, Brenda Large and her husband Kevin, Sr. of Rogersville, MO, Janet Blumer and her husband Darren of Yale and Danette McIntyre and her husband Carl of Perkins; her grandchildren, Autumn Edge, Adam Gamble, Kimberly Large, Amanda Large, Katherine Large, Kevin Large, II, Austin Blumer, Andrew Blumer, Jesse McIntyre and Macayla McIntyre; one great-grandson Jacob Edge and other relatives and friends.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one brother John Brooks.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, February 27, 2007 at 4 P.M. in the Memorial Chapel of the Davis Funeral Home with Reverend Marvin Skinner officiating.

Burial will follow in the Harrell Cemetery.

The family will greet friends on Monday evening from 6 P.M. until 8 P.M. in the Floyd Family Center, east of the Funeral Home.
