Family will receive guests at Strode Funeral Home on Wednesday, Sept. 22, from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. There will be a private family service at Glenwood Cemetery. Strode Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. He was born Oct. 11, 1930, in Perry, Okla., to Ernest Shearer and Hattie Elsie Shearer. He had 15 brothers and sisters. He was married on June 16, 1990, to Virginia Brooks in Fayetteville, N.C. He was a loving husband, father and friend. |

Strode Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Virginia was born May 7, 1924 in Oakhill, West Virginia to Roy Burgess Brooks and Goldie Taylor Brooks. She had 4 sisters and 4 brothers. She married Everett Shearer June 16, 1990 in Fayetteville, North Carolina. There will be a private burial at Glenwood Cemetery on Fairgrounds road. No service at this time. |
