A graveside service will be held at Glenwood Cemetery, 92nd and Fairgrounds Rd. in Perkins, OK. Strode Funeral Home and Cremation is in charge of the service. Roberta was born on October 11, 1928 in Payne County, Oklahoma to Griff and Grace [Murlin] Jones. She married Loyd Sharpton on June 11, 1947 in Perry, Oklahoma and he passed in September, 1986. After attending Ripley Schools, she became a homemaker and was employed at Stillwater Public Schools. She enjoyed working in her beautiful flower gardens, feeding the birds, reading and spending time with family. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded by her baby daughter Anita Grace; son, Roy L. and sisters Viola Etheridge, Velma Nash, Lola Boyer, Freddie Gant and Carol Krout. Surviving her are daughters, Debbie and Bruce Fritts of Cushing, Shelly and Carvel Spencer of Stillwater; grandchildren, Shannon and Kyle Simmons of Oklahoma City, Brian and Jenny Fritts of Edmond, Carle and James Santelli of Stillwater, Laci and Dan Veselak of Stillwater and Griffen Spencer of Stillwater; great-grandchildren, Austin Simmons, Braxton Fritts, Carter Fritts, Anthony Santelli and Addilaide Santelli; brother-in-law, Tommy Gant of Stillwater. |
