Della Emma [How] Knight
February 1, 1897 ~ December 27, 1976


Della Emma Knight, 79, Cushing, died Monday, December 27, 1976, in Tulsa. Funeral services will be at 2 pm Friday in Strode's Chapel with the Rev Edgar Beavers offidiating.

Burial will be in Glenwood Cemetery southeast of Stillwater with graveside services by the Royal Neighbors of America

Mrs Knight was born February 2, 1897, at Guthrie, the daughter of Willie Carlton and Mary Effie How. She was married to John M. Knight at Guthrie, November 11, 1918.

After their marriage they moved north of Coyle and then to the Eden Chapel area in 1941. They moved to Cushing in 1963.

A member of the Coyle Christian Church and Royal Neighbors of America, she was preceded in death by her husband, a sister, Bessie How, and a brother, Willie R. How.

She is survived by a daughter, Mrs Robert [Julia Irene] Gunkel, Rt 1, Coyle; a son, John Matthew Knight, 3912 N Washington, seven grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, a brother, Carl How, Sand Springs, and a hgalf sister, Mrs Neil [Armenta] Burton, Sand Springs.

Johnny Stanley Knight, 55, died on June 3, 2011 in Midwest City, Oklahoma. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am on Thursday, June 9, 2011 at Eden Chapel United Methodist Church with Pastor John K. Curtis officiating. Interment will follow at Glenwood Cemetery.

He was born on December 21, 1955 in Stillwater Oklahoma to John and Betty Knight. He attended school in Perkins, Oklahoma and graduated from Oklahoma State University with a bachelor's degree in Animal Science. He served in the United States Air Force. He was a carpenter and an ordained minister.

He married Linda Kay Broomfield on October 14, 1978. They later divorced.

He is preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by three sons; John Robert Knight, Gavin Levi Knight and Dakotah James Knight. One daughter; Destiny Lorene Knight, all of Perkins, Oklahoma. Two sisters; Betty May Driskel of Perkins, Oklahoma and Dorothy Marie Beames, brother-in-law; Calvin Greenwood Beames of Ardmore, Oklahoma and grandchildren; Rainey Michelle Knight and John Matthew Knight of Perkins; and several nieces and nephews.

In Lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been created for needs of the surviving minor children. Contributions can be made to the family of Johnny Knight, c/o Strode Funeral Home, P.O. Box 487, Stillwater, Oklahoma, 74076.
