© Palmer Marler Funeral Home Cushing, OK - Payne and Lincoln County November 2015 Grace Marie [Murlin] Jones October 15, 1905 ~ october 24, 1992 Services for Grace Marie Jones, 87, of 1215 W 10th will be at 2 pm Wednesday, October 28, at Strode Funeral Chapel with the Rev Larry Eslinger officiating. Burial will follow t Glenwood Cemetery in Perkins under the direction of Strode Funeral Home. She died Saturday, October 24, 1992, at Stillwater Medical Center. Mrs. Jones was born on October 15, 1905 in Payne County, the daughter of Joseph William and Edith Viola [Brownell] Murlin. On April 2, 1924, she married Griff Jones in Payne County. He died January 1979. She enjoyed sewing, hand quilting, reading westerns and was an avid gardener of irises and vegetables. Mrs. Jones was a homemaker and a member of the First United Methodist Church and Burton Quilting Club. She was also predeceased by one daughter, Lola Boyer, two grandsons, one granddaughter, three sisters and two brothers. Survivors include five daughters, Mrs Janes [Viola] Etheridge, Mrs Loyd [Roberta] Sharpton, Mrs Tommy [Freddie] Gant, all of Stillwater, Mrs Lee [Velma] Nash of Forestville, Calif and Mrs Dale [Carol] Krout of Ponca City; and 17 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren, five great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by one brother, Raymond Murlin of Oklahoma City, and one sister, Mrs Tom [Eva Mae] Black of Mount Pleasant, Texas. Pallbearers include Wayne Boyer, Jim Etheridge, Larry Gant, Bobby Krout, Jerry Lambertz, Roy Sharpton and John Walker. |
