Press Stillwater, Oklahoma April 6, 2013 Ola Daphne "Tommie" Waltman Fulk March 26, 1920 ~ April 2, 2013 Former longtime Stillwater resident Ola Daphne "Tommie" Fulk, 93, passed away Tuesday, April 2, 2013, at Ranchwood Nursing Center in Yukon. Per her request, the family will hold a private memorial service for her on Saturday, April 13, 2013, in Stillwater. Interment will be at Glenwood Cemetery, southeast of Stillwater. She was born in Depew on March 26, 1920, the youngest child of Clarence L. and Rosa A. (Mains) Waltman. She grew up on a farm southeast of Stillwater and graduated from Ripley High School in 1938. Her first place of employment in Stillwater was at the Student Union bakery at Oklahoma A&M College. She then worked as a sales clerk for the C.R. Anthony Company during WWII and years later was a part time housekeeper for the Circle D and El Sol Motels. She also worked as a sales clerk for Katz Department Store before her retirement in 1981. She married Eugene "Gene" Franklin Fulk on Nov. 18, 1942, in Stillwater, just prior to him shipping out to North Africa and Europe with the U.S. Army. They were part of "The Greatest Generation" that came of age during the Great Depression and Second World War and went on to raise four "Baby Boomers" in their 52 years of marriage. Tommie was well known for her cooking abilities and everyone enjoyed her homemade cinnamon rolls, carrot cake and apple cobbler. At Christmastime, she was famous for her homemade divinity and fruitcake. She was predeceased by her parents, one sister and seven brothers, Opal, Dick, Bud, Jack, Ray, Phil, Caleb and Dale Waltman and their spouses. She was also predeceased by her husband Gene and oldest son Ron Fulk. She is survived by two sons, Gary Fulk and wife Karla of Wichita, Kan., and Marty Fulk and wife Pam of Oklahoma City, one daughter Ann Fulk Pardue and husband Don of Yukon, one daughter-in-law Nancy Fulk Potter of New Carlisle, Ohio, two granddaughters, Greta Fulk Rowe and husband Mike and Amanda Fulk Grigsby and husband Matt of Medway, Ohio, one grandson Ryan Pardue and wife Chelsea of Stillwater, two great-grandsons Wyatt and Mason Grigsby of Medway, Ohio, and numerous nieces and nephews. The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to the staff at Ranchwood Nursing Center, Yukon, and Crossroads Hospice, Oklahoma City, for the care given Tommie this past year. Memorial contributions can be made in her name to Ranchwood Nursing Center, 824 S. Yukon Parkway, Yukon, Okla., 73099 and Crossroads Hospice, 701 SE 82nd St., Oklahoma City, Okla., 73149.
