© February 2010 Billie Wayne Cavanaugh March 20, 1925 ~ February 16, 2010 Billy Wayne Cavanaugh, 84, of Perkins, Oklahoma, died on February 16, 2010 in his home. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, February 19, 2010 at the Immanuel Baptist Church in Perkins with Brother Robin Foster officiating. Interment will follow at Glenwood Cemetery in Perkins. Strode Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. He was born in Carbon, Texas, on March 20, 1925 to Jesse Thomas and Ruby Lee Couch Cavanaugh. He married Billie "June" Hays on June 4, 1949 in Carbon, Texas; they had one son and one daughter. Billy attended Carbon High School. He retired from the OSU Horticulture Department in 1988, worked as an Electric Lineman with Sterling Construction in Texas and Oklahoma and with West Texas Utilities in Ozona, TX, and served in World War II as a Private First Class Army Engineer. He was a member of the Immanuel Baptist Church in Perkins, where he served as a Deacon. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Alvin Ray Cavanaugh. He is survived by his wife, June Cavanaugh; son, Gale Wayne Cavanaugh and wife, Rita of Perkins, OK; daughter, Marla June Cavanaugh, of Perkins, OK; five grandchildren, Christi Weatherley and husband, John, of Perkins, OK; Melanie Cavanaugh of Carrollton, TX; Lezlee Cavanaugh of Stillwater, OK; Josh Tivis and wife, Nicole, of Perkins, OK; Chris Tivis and wife, Jeri Beth, of Perkins, OK; seven great grandchildren; Macie Collier, of Perkins, OK; Ayden, Ruthie, Tahlor, and Teegin Tivis, of Perkins, OK; Keagan Weatherley, of Perkins, OK; Saniya Mason, of Carrollton, TX; one sister, Jessie Amato, of Woodville, TX; brother-in-law, Bryan Hays and wife, Frances, of Stillwater, OK; and many nieces and nephews. Pallbearers are Josh Tivis, Chris Tivis, John Weatherley, Jory Stanley, Travis Hays, and Jon Bartram. |
© May 2011 Billie June [Hays] Cavanaugh October 17, 1931 ~ May 21, 2011 Billie "June" Cavanaugh, 79, died on Saturday, May 21, 2011 at her home in Perkins, Oklahoma. Her services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, May 27, 2011 at the Immanuel Baptist Church in Perkins, Oklahoma. Interment will follow at Glenwood Cemetery. She was born on October 17, 1931 to Marvin Franklin and Opal [Holloway] Hays in Flatwoods, Texas. She married Billy Wayne Cavanaugh on June 4, 1949 in Carbon, Texas. In 1968, she received her cosmetology license and worked for many years as a beautician in Texas. She retired from Oklahoma State University in 1994, after working in the OSU Payroll Office for over 20 years. June and her husband, Billy, worked from 1995-2000 managing National Forest camp grounds in Missouri and Utah. She loved spending time with family, especially her great-grandchildren. She was an active member of the Immanuel Baptist Church and an avid fan of OSU basketball. She is preceded in death by her parents, Marvin and Opal Hays; husband, Billy Wayne Cavanaugh; and brother, Johnny Marvin Hays. She is survived by her son, Gale Cavanaugh, and wife, Rita, of Perkins, Oklahoma; daughter, Marla Cavanaugh, of Perkins, Oklahoma; granddaughter, Christi Weatherley, and husband, John, of Perkins, Oklahoma; grandson, Josh Tivis, and wife, Nicole, of Perkins, Oklahoma; grandson, Chris Tivis, and wife Jerri Beth, of Perkins, Oklahoma; granddaughter, Melanie Cavanaugh, of Carrollton, Texas; granddaughter, Lezlee Cavanaugh, of Perkins, Oklahoma; great-grandchildren, Macie Collier, Ayden Tivis, Ruthie Tivis, Tahlor Tivis, Teegin Tivis, Keagan Weatherley, and Saniya Mason; and brother, Bryan Hays, and wife, Frances, of Stillwater, Oklahoma. Pallbearers will include Josh Tivis, Chris Tivis, John Weatherley, Jory Stanley, Jon Bartram, and Shelby Launer.
