© Dighton~Marler Funeral Home Stillwater, Oklahoma March 30, 1929 Donald "Jack" Alderson March 30, 1929 ~ October 10, 2009 Funeral services for Donald "Jack" ALDERSON, 80, of Stillwater are scheduled for 2:00 P.M. Thursday, October 15, 2009 at Southside Baptist Church with Pastor Joe Day officiating. Burial will follow at Glencoe, South Cemetery. Family will greet friends from 6:00 â•" 8:00 P.M. Wednesday, October 14 at Palmer Marler Funeral Home, Stillwater. Services are under the direction of Palmer Marler Funeral Home, Stillwater. Jack was born on March 30, 1929 in Stillwater, OK to John and Francis (Gooden) Alderson. He grew up and attended schools in Stillwater where he graduated from Stillwater High School in 1949. He was in the Naval Reserve and later joined the U.S. Army. Jack married Nellie Ritter in August 1950. They enjoyed 59 years together. When Jack returned from the army, he enrolled at Oklahoma A&M Tech in Okmulgee. After graduation, he moved to California. Jack owned and operated a dry cleaning business near March Air Force Base in Riverside, CA until losing his vision. After 38 years in CA, he returned to Stillwater where he has resided for the past 15 years. He loved the Lord. When he met someone new, it was not long until he asked if they were a Christian. He loved hunting and fishing. He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother; and two sisters. Jack is survived by his wife, Nellie of the home; one son, Donald Alderson and wife Janeille of Stillwater; one daughter, Renee Neilson and husband, Aaron of CA; three grandchildren, Samantha and Sarah Neilson and Angela Patterson; and four great grandchildren.
