Pauline K. Bonebrake Stites

Pauline K. Bonebrake Stites, longtime Cushing resident, passed away on Thursday, March 6, 2008 in Dallas, TX where she had moved to be with her daughter and family.

She was born June 27, 1915 in Cushing on a farm in Lincoln County.

She was reared and educated in Cushing, graduating in 1933 from Cushing High School.

Pauline was the daughter of the Reverend Fances Marian Bonebrake and Margaret Bell Morris.

She was married to Hubert D. Stites September 11, 1937 by her father The Rev. F. M. Bonebrake. They lived in Cushing until 1962 when they moved to Tulsa with Hubert’s job, moving back to Cushing because of Hubert’s health in 1978. Hubert passed away November 7, 1979 and Pauline lived here until moving to be with her daughter and family in 2004.

Pauline was a member of First Presbyterian Church and attended circle and association and sang in the choir for many years. She was active at the Senior’s Center where she played cards and fellowshipped with others.

She is survived by her daughter and husband, Huberta and Tommy Reaves of Dallas, Texas; her son Dr. Ronald Paul Stites and wife Sally of Norman, OK; four grandchildren, Brent A. Reaves, Traci Reaves Peacock of Carrollton, TX; Devin Reaves of Pensacola, FL and Ronald S. Stites of Georgetown, TX; six great grandchildren, Brittni Miller, Austen, Brennan and Whittli Peacock; Ashley Reaves and Dalton Stites; one nephew; two nieces and other relatives and friends.

Pauline was preceded in death by her father and mother, 8 half sisters and 1 half brother.

Services will be held on Monday, March 10, 2008 at 2:00 P.M. in the First Presbyterian Church with Reverend Tom Stewart officiating.

Visitation will be held on Monday morning in the Floyd Family Center, East of the Funeral Home.

Pall Bearers will be her grandsons and great grandsons, Brent and Devin Reaves, Ron S. Stites, Scott, Austen and Brennan Peacock. Honorary Pall Bearers will be Adrian and Hector Cardenas.
