Collene C. Phillips Skinner

Collene C. Skinner, longtime Cushing resident, passed away on Wednesday, July 8, 2009 in Tulsa at the age of 71 years.

The daughter of the late Warren Phillips and Ruth Coggins Phillips, Collene was born on November 7, 1938 in Arkansas and was reared in California.

She was united in marriage to Marvin Skinner on September 20, 1956 in Clovis, California. To this union seven children, Betty, Don, Judy, Wayne, Jimmy, Steven and Lee, were born.

She loved spending time with her family, her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She also enjoyed going to yard sales and fishing.

Survivors include her husband, Marvin, of almost 53 years; five children, Don Skinner and his wife Tammy, Judy Alvarado, Wayne Skinner, Jimmy Skinner and his wife Bobbie, Lee Skinner and his wife Johna; thirteen grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; 11 brothers and sisters; Bobby Phillips, Louise Rodgers, Dee Phillips, Leroy Phillips, Marilyn Norris, Jewel Russell, Kathy Andrews, Bonnie Childs, Wanda Mata, Pat Sprawler and Ronald Wayne Phillips, other relatives and friends.

In addition to her parents, Collene was preceded in death by two children, Betty Skinner and Steven Skinner; and two brothers, William Hershal Phillips and Gerald Phillips.

Services will be held on Saturday, July 11, 2009 at 10:00 A.M. in the Davis Memorial Chapel with Reverend Gary Brown officiating.

Burial will follow in the Fairlawn Cemetery.
